The Shimmer EVM testnet, which launched in late March, has accomplished outstanding feats. A tweet commemorating the achievements was published by the Shimmer Network.
Surprisingly, the Shimmer EVM testnet has over 38,000 wallet addresses and over 1 million transactions. More than 2,200 smart contracts have already been put into use.
IOTA co-founder Dominik Schiener celebrated the achievement on Twitter. According to Schiener’s tweet, “1 million transactions on the Shimmer EVM in less than 1 month, big milestone that shows the resilience, speed, and reliability of the network.”
The Shimmer EVM test chain went live on the Shimmer testnet on March 29. A significant step in extending the interoperable Shimmer protocol’s reach to a larger group of blockchain users and developers who create EVM-compatible smart contracts was the creation of the EVM chain on the testnet.
Prior to its much awaited introduction on the Shimmer network, the Shimmer EVM testnet launch offers a number of opportunities and access to Shimmer protocol features.
The Shimmer EVM will undergo more testing and validation on the public testnet in an effort to identify any flaws or areas that need improvement.
Pyth Network, Treasures of Shimmer
The Shimmer Network announced the delivery of an important piece of infrastructure on the Shimmer EVM earlier in April. The ShimmerEVM testnet now hosts the oracle contracts that the Pyth Network has implemented.
Real-time pricing data, which is essential for lending protocols and derivatives platforms, would be able to be pulled into the EVM by projects on Shimmer thanks to the deployment.
Treasures of Shimmer, a two-week incentive campaign that will begin on May 3, 2023, was also announced. It will provide rewards to projects and people that take part in the public testing of the EVM chain and the dApps installed on it.
A total of 1,300,000 SMR tokens would be available in the reward pool for participants.
