Cardano Foundation CEO Explains What Happens After SPO Vote

Cardano

In a recent interview, Frederick Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, talked about the Stake Pool Operator (SPO) vote and Cardano’s most recent development plans.

All Cardano SPOs have the opportunity to vote in the SPO poll on three issues pertaining to the future path of the Cardano network.

According to Gregaard, this endeavour will strengthen the Cardano community in addition to adding a new layer to the governance architecture.

The CEO emphasised that this poll is not a vote but said that the findings would be a helpful tool to promote transparency and community involvement.

Gregaard said that the SPO poll will take use of each stake pool’s distinct configuration and verifiability to provide a special insight into the preferences of the community. Depending on the results of the poll, Cardano holders who have been delegating to such pools will have the option of either continuing to support their SPO or choosing to re-delegate.

The protocol parameter committee, a recently formed organisation with representation from several Cardano-related companies, will take the findings into account when determining how the SPO poll will affect Cardano. The committee’s goal is to analyse and perhaps implement the improvements suggested in the poll, facilitating Cardano’s progress and streamlining the development process.

The Cardano Foundation is making a larger effort to increase its openness and community involvement, and the SPO poll is only one component of that.

The annual report, or “transparency report,” as Gregaard refers to it, which details the foundation’s accomplishments and objectives as well as financial disclosures, is one of the other projects. The CEO is certain that these initiatives will increase accountability and effectiveness in the foundation’s operations while also fostering improved community understanding.
