DOGE Founder Bashes Mark Zuckerberg for Creating Twitter Clone ‘To Kill Us All’

DOGE

Billy Markus, who along with Jackson Palmer created the first meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin ten years ago, has given his thoughts on the new social networking application Threads. It was built by Meta, which Mark Zuckerberg founded, or more precisely, by Instagram, which is a part of Meta.

In the wake of Meta’s “potential Twitter killer” launch, Twitter has been buzzing. Many have criticised Mark Zuckerberg for copying Twitter and continuing his company’s aggressive policy, which sounds like “if you can’t buy a competitor, create its clone, or integrate a similar feature into your own app.”

When Zuckerberg was unable to purchase Snapchat, he instead purchased Instagram and added the Reels feature, which drove many users away from the TikTok app. Prior to that, he bought WhatsApp as a possible Messenger competitor.

Billy Markus supports Twitter and Elon Musk against Zuckerberg

Markus left a remark on a tweet from “greg” (@greg16676935420), a person with 500,000 followers on Twitter. Ironically, “Greg” claimed that he was on Elon Musk’s side, noting that the tech pioneer had invested $44 billion in Twitter while asserting that “Elon put his blood, sweat, and tears into inventing Twitter.”

Elon Musk claimed to fight for free expression on Twitter, but Markus corrected him, saying that Jack Dorsey developed Twitter, not Musk, and that “he invented oxygen so we could breathe,” but “Zuckerberg invented carbon monoxide to kill us all.”

Markus also criticised the new Threads app that Meta published in earlier tweets. For instance, he tweeted that “Mark Zuckerberg will personally come and kick you in the face if you delete your Threads account.”

Here’s why Threads app is being criticized

Billy Markus and several others are supposedly concerned since Meta is well known for problems involving the disclosure of Facebook users’ personal information and for having strict restrictions on its social media platforms.

Zuckerberg is unlikely to limit speech on his recently released Threads programme, given that Musk has stated from the start that he is purchasing Twitter to protect free expression, which means only minor filtering – mostly connected to terrorists, insulting other users, etc. Zuckerberg has nevertheless said that he wants to create a “friendly version” of Twitter and that there are some chances he wants to take advantage of that Twitter has overlooked.

However, Elon Musk has also come under fire from some for the manner he is running Twitter and for his choice to remove a sizable percentage of the team after purchasing the business.

Earlier expression of Musk-Zuckerberg rivalry

The two internet millionaires are preparing a cage battle, as U.Today has revealed. Musk made the lighthearted suggestion, and Zuckerberg responded by offering to email Musk a place for the battle.

It is well known that both like martial arts and train in gyms. Even more, Elon Musk trained with Lex Fridman, a well-known podcaster and AI researcher who also happens to be a master of martial arts.

Musk hinted in a tweet last week that a cage match between himself and Zuckerberg would happen in the Colosseum. This apparently lighthearted desire of the tech geniuses to actually fight may now take on an entirely other tint in light of the announcement of the Threads app.
