Bitfinex Moves Gargantuan Bitcoin (BTC) Chunk, Here’s Surprising Destination

Bitcoin

3,500 Bitcoins were seen being moved from the Bitfinex exchange, one of the first and largest cryptocurrency platforms on the market, around 22 hours ago, according to the Whale Alert blockchain tracking website, which keeps track of significant cryptocurrency transactions.

On his Twitter profile, Chinese crypto-blogger and journalist Colin Wu posted a response from the freshly created Arkham Intelligence platform.

$102 million in BTC on move

The wallet, 3E3CPTRLjTJe7GQuxMKpwmai2yFbkuGDMV, to which the aforementioned transaction was made, according to Arkham data, is owned by Bitfinex; it is the transit address of this trading site. At the time of the transfer, 3,500 BTC, or around $102 million, were given to it.

Wu said that there had been two other transactions of huge amounts of Bitcoin from Bitfinex to the same wallet. Later, they were transferred to other exchange-owned wallets.

As of the date of publishing, 3,500 BTC are worth a total of $102,160,100.

BTC network is growing again — “bullish sign,” analyst says

Ali Martinez, a cryptocurrency expert, tweeted a Glassnode snapshot demonstrating the growth in the number of new Bitcoin wallets. This obviously shows that the Bitcoin network has started expanding once more, and the expert termed it an optimistic indication because it signals a rise in network usage.

The Santiment on-chain data aggregator tweeted earlier this week that it is important to keep an eye on the increase in the number of big Bitcoin wallets as the summer progresses. Another price burst may be imminent if the number of wallets carrying 100 BTC and more starts to increase once more.
