Another tweet from David Schwartz, the chief technical officer at Ripple and a contributor to the development of the XRP Ledger, the foundation for XRP, has sparked controversy in the Ripple community.
Recently, Schwartz has been highly active on Twitter (recently rebranded as X app), and he frequently writes tweets that appear to be intended only to keep in touch with his intended audience, the XRP army. Like many other contributions from content creators, these tweets rarely have any real value, but the XRP community always reacts positively to them.
Ripple CTO stirs XRP army
This time, “Bazinga” was tweeted by the Ripple CTO. In response, he received a number of tweets asking what it meant or offering amusing translations of this phrase. According to Google, this term means “they are surrounded” in Rwandan. On the “Big Bang Theory” programme, Sheldon’s character likewise frequently uses the phrase “Bazinga.”
In response to the tweet, some fraudulent cryptocurrency accounts offered their postings of bogus cryptocurrency giveaways.
On Thursday, Schwartz called the XRP army’s attention to a tweet about the upcoming Evernode (EVRS) airdrop for holders of XRP (albeit it hasn’t yet been named specifically).
According to Schwartz, “the number of scammers responding to this tweet is insane.”
Ripple releases one billion from escrow
The finance powerhouse Ripple released an incredible billion of these tokens from its escrow addresses today, Sept. 1, as part of a regularly scheduled release.
Since Ripple opted to promote this top-five cryptocurrency and enhance XRP’s market liquidity in 2018, these withdrawals have been carried out.
