Dogecoin (DOGE) Creator Ends Speculation on His New Token

Dogecoin

Recently, there has been conjecture in the cryptocurrency world that Billy Markus, cofounder of Dogecoin (DOGE) and also known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto, would be covertly involved in the creation of a new token.

When a cryptocurrency enthusiast posted on social media that Markus had joined the Discord channel of a freshly relaunched coin—which has a market valuation of barely $20 million—the rumours gathered traction.

Marcus weighed in on the rumours by using social media to make his opinion clear in an oblique response. He insisted that he was not involved in the project’s restart and highlighted the fact that the resurrected effort was linked to antiquated technology that was shelved back in 2013.

Markus issued a warning to prospective investors, saying that people should be well-informed before using the outdated technology.

The founder of DOGE explained that his participation in the project’s Discord channel was more for informational purposes and to share his knowledge of the technology than it was to further development. He repeatedly reiterated his clear belief that he has no plans to become involved in the creation of any cryptocurrency initiative in the future.

“Greed blinds everyone”

Markus gave his followers a direct assessment of the state of the bitcoin industry in a different message.

He said that Dogecoin’s early success was due to its fair distribution, but he was sceptical of the present status of the cryptocurrency industry, noting excessive greed and a lack of fundamental knowledge.

By making these oblique claims, Markus aimed to silence the rumours that were going around, emphasising his disinterest in any further cryptocurrency development projects and categorically rejecting any involvement in the new token initiative.
