As it moves closer to deployment, the XRP Ledger Layer 2 platform Evernode has provided an update. Through Hooks, Evernode integrates “Layer 2” smart contracts into the XRP Ledger ecosystem.
Evernode announced on Twitter that the audit of the Hooks V3 testnet would start around the middle of August. It gives the following explanation: like other XRPL recipients, it was still awaiting confirmation of the documentation and financial aid from Ripple.
It provides information about the testing of the Nomad contract in a subsequent version. Despite making progress in its testing, the development team reports that the Nomad contract is proving more difficult to manage than anticipated since the data on the nodes it controls is not persisting on the betanet. It anticipates solving this problem in the following week.
In April, Evernode gave some updates and mentioned that it was getting ready to debut. It was stated that the Evernode beta would reopen on the Hooks V3 testnet. According to the reports, this transfer marked the beginning of the process of getting ready to launch on their sidechain when it became online.
Scott Chamberlain, a co-founder of Evernode, said at the time that the company hoped to receive a second grant so it could audit Hooks v3 and finance the platform’s debut.
As one of the five recipients of the XRPL Grants round, Evernode announced on July 17 that it could finally begin an external audit of the Hooks v3 testnet.
Given the opportunities it opens up for the XRP Ledger, the XRP community is eagerly awaiting the introduction of the Evernode platform. Following the introduction of the protocol, an airdrop to XRP holders is planned, with 2,580,480 Evers, the proposed native token of the system, set aside for this reason, as stated in its whitepaper.
