Following a recent theft of a MyDoge wallet account, Mishaboar, a significant DOGE contributor with influence over the Dogecoin community, has issued a serious warning to DOGE holders. After hackers gained access to the wallet, the account has now been recovered.
“Target for hackers and scammers”
The original meme-inspired cryptocurrency DOGE, along with its owners, will always be a “primary target for hackers and scammers,” according to the Dogecoin contributor. Mishaboar claims that the primary cause of this is the high level of popularity of DOGE among cryptocurrency novices.
Additionally, he sent a request to Twitter support, asking them to temporarily suspend accounts that other users had flagged as scammers.

The contributor also discussed the earlier today account hacking incident involving the MyDoge wallet. In a tweet, Mishaboar said that after the earlier attack, which occurred in early December, hackers had gained access to the MyDoge wallet Twitter account by using a permission that was set to “delegate access.”
Warning to new Dogecoin holders
The offenders published a request for the Dogecoin community to send their DOGE to a specific wallet in order to get twice as much of it returned. The DOGE contributor pointed out that by now, access has been recovered and reclaimed from the hackers.
In relation to this, Mishaboar provided fundamental security guidelines for novices in the cryptocurrency field who have begun using Dogecoin. It is crucial to avoid sending DOGE even as presents or when a double amount is promised in return; moreover, it is necessary to avoid connecting wallets with ETH, SOL, DOGE, or any other cryptocurrency in order to get airdrops, NFTs, or similar offers, regardless of which account is making scam offers. Furthermore, it is important that one never divulge their seed word to anybody.
