Dolce & Gabbana Prods Elon Musk to Buy a ‘Doge Crown’ NFT

Italian luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana wants to crown Elon Musk the ‘King of Crypto,’ with a catch.

The cryptocurrency world has already dubbed Elon Musk the ‘Dogefather’ after making the meme-coin a household name via social media. Now, Dolce & Gabbana has an official crown for the ‘King of Crypto.’ Accepting the title, however, comes at a price for Musk.

The fashion house has hinted that Musk should participate in their auction of a so-called “Doge Crown”. The crown is part of the luxury brand’s first foray into the non-fungible token (NFT) world. It is currently available via live auction, and has a current bid of $495,676.

UNXD, the organized marketplace that runs the auction, tweeted Musk to buy the crown. The D&G account responded by tweeting, “Legend has it that the special collector that owns The Doge Crown will thereafter be the anointed King of Crypto…”An implication that Musk can change from Dogefather to King of Crypto if he wears the crown.

The Doge Crown is just one of nine unique pieces that make up the Collezione Genesi on UNXD’s marketplace. The collection, which took 16,000 hours to create, has already seen more than $ 1.5 million in auctions. The collection includes physical copies of all the NFTs sold. Physical copies are “completely handcrafted, museum-quality items across Alta Moda (women), Alta Sartoria (men) and Alta Gioielleria (fine jewelry). “

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana designed the crown and inspired by the Piazza San Marco in Venice. Within the Piazza resides the Doge’s Palace, known locally as Palazzo Ducale. The palace has nothing to do with Doge as it was built in 1340. However, the name was convenient when looking for inspiration to create an NFT collection.

NFTs come in the form of animation and stills rendered in 4K and come with physical versions.
