The Batman cowl-inspired NFT collection will launch to fans worldwide and tie into an upcoming private DC Universe forum.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC, and Palm NFT Studio are collaborating to launch a collection of Batman non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Comprised of 200,000 unique 3D-rendered Batman Cowl NFTs, the Bat Cowl Collection will draw inspiration from the DC character’s 83-year legacy. Part of this will be distinct identities and traits for each NFT hood, including various combinations of colors, styles, and mask shapes.

The Bat Cowl Collection will start selling on April 26th, at $300 apiece and come with various benefits. These include access to events, merchandise, as well as metaverse elements. The release of the new themed superhero NFTs will be via DC’s NFT marketplace nft.dcuniverse.com, where fans will also be able to purchase subsequent ‘upgrades.’

DC’s publisher and chief creative officer, Jim Lee, commented on the announced development at the ongoing NFT LA conference. Lee enthused about Batman’s popularity as the world’s leading superhero and the changes in appearance throughout its 83-year history. The Bat Cowl collection being special, DC’s creative director continued:

“What’s exciting about this amazing collaboration is that we are continuing the evolution of his distinctive Bat Cowl by bringing it into the modern digital world, making it accessible and more wildly engaging than ever before.”

Additionally, Lee also suggested that the new NFT collection has been masterfully curated to cater to all Batman fans. He said that “through the introduction of carefully selected colors, textures and upgrades, the end results offer grip and taste for all types of Batman fans and serve as powerful ways for all of us to make our own timeless icon.”

Insight Into Perks Offered by The Upcoming Batman NFT Collection

Owners of DC FanDome NFTs will be privy to exclusive presale perks offered by the Batman digital collectibles. The DC FanDome initiative is a previous collaborative initiative that took place between DC and Palm NFT Studio in September last year. During the annual fan event, registrants were the surprise recipients of free, randomly-distributed superhero collectibles.

Fans who buy into The Bat Cowl Collection will also be aware of behind-the-scenes DC content. The comic book publishing powerhouse plans to launch a private DC Universe forum for fans who own the digital covers. For this forum, DC has a two-year plan to provide additional benefits to Bat Cowl holders every 52 days. Some of these benefits include augmented reality (AR) and metaverse integration, which includes future DC Comics stories.

The arrival of The Bat Cowl Collection follows the theatrical release of “The Batman” movie by Warner Bros. So far, the superhero movie has raked in more than $330 million at the domestic box office. This substantial revenue comes with launching the biggest consumer products collection for a Batman movie in over ten years.

The new Batman NFT Collection is indicative of the resounding success and growing popularity of digital assets, especially NFTs.

“The fast-emerging NFT space allows us to connect with fans in a completely new and innovative way,” said Warner Bros head of NFT commercial development Josh Hackbarth.
