‘Doge Day’ 4/20: Dogecoin Founder Responds to Elon Musk’s Tweet About Starship Ready for Launch

Dogecoin

In addition to “Weed Day,” April 20 is also known as “Doge Day,” the latter commemorating the 2013 launch of the meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin by two IT developers, Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer.

Elon Musk said that the Starship was getting ready to take off. In the meanwhile, the price of DOGE started to increase and is presently up 4.63%.

Will Starship launch on “Doge Day?”

With the debut of Starship today, on April 20 — “420 Day,” huge Dogecoin supporter Elon Musk, who is also the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and the owner of Twitter, is teasing the Dogecoin community.

Musk tweeted that everything was in order for launch three hours ago. In response to Musk’s tweet, co-founder of Dogecoin Markus posted a GIF from “”Oh, my God! The Big Short” movie, exclaiming. Okay! It’s taking place!”

SpaceX said ten hours ago that its crew was trying to make the Thursday, April 20, launch for the first flight test of a “fully integrated Starship and Super Heavy rocket” achievable.

The launch was originally scheduled for earlier this week, but Musk said that it had been postponed due to technical difficulties (a pressurant valve was frozen). A new launch date of April 20 was suggested as a replacement. The DOGE community noticed this and started humorously tweeting that the delay was taking place so that memes could be made.

DOGE-1 Moon Mission scheduled for 2023

Another “Doge-related” SpaceX flight is anticipated this year, the Doge-1 lunar mission, as reported by U.Today earlier in the year.

Geometric Energy Company (GEC) paid SpaceX in DOGE in 2021 to launch a spacecraft into lunar orbit.

The tech entrepreneur Musk stated on Twitter in 2021 that SpaceX will “place a literal Dogecoin on a literal Moon.” Everyone assumed this was an April Fool’s joke as this tweet was posted on April 1. Later, though, the head of SpaceX tweeted out some information.

The Doge Moon Mission was initially scheduled to launch in March of this year. The satellite will be launched and deployed to lunar orbit no early than Q3, 2023, according to an update that was shared on December 31 by “DogeDesigner,” also known as @cb doge on Twitter.
