Shiba Inu’s Unexpected Ally: Pepe Gains Traction with Prominent Endorsement

Pepe

A well-known Unification fund operator and validator named Ringoshi Toitsu has ostensibly promoted Pepe, a meme currency that competes with Shiba Inu.

It should be highlighted that the major creator of Shibarium, a layer-2 solution for the Shiba Inu coin, is Unification, a blockchain development company. The possibility of Pepe being accepted by Unification in the future has been discussed.

Pepe, which was introduced earlier this year, has been getting a lot of steam and is challenging Shiba Inu and Dogecoin for supremacy in the meme coin market.

Toitsu shared his opinions on the function of meme coins in the cryptocurrency industry on Twitter. He named Pepe as one of the “gateway drugs” that expose new people to the realm of cryptocurrency, along with Shiba Inu and Dogecoin. These meme coins draw users who rapidly pick up on cryptocurrency and start looking into other opportunities for development and profit due to its entertaining and simple-to-understand design.

The fight for meme coins has gained an intriguing dimension thanks to this endorsement from a significant individual connected to the creation of the Shiba Inu. It’s unclear whether Toitsu’s tweet was intended as a direct endorsement or was just a comment, but it is undeniable that Pepe is now on the radar of significant industry players.

According to CoinGecko data, Pepe’s trading volume recently nearly quadrupled that of Shiba Inu, hitting $380 million.

Pepe’s controversial mascot has raised some eyebrows, and the project has been accused of being a hoax, but the cryptocurrency is still gaining popularity. This may be because of its ambitious goal, which hopes to unseat other well-known meme coins.

As Pepe continues to gain popularity, it is unclear how the rivalry between the two most popular meme coins will pan out.
