Cardano (ADA) creator Charles Hoskinson has recently under criticism for frequently using his own plane. Critics claim that Hoskinson is using more gasoline than well-known individuals like Jay-Z, Mark Zuckerberg, Ken Gryphon, and Mark Cuban with more than 353 trips in a single year. The figures are not totally correct, Hoskinson quickly pointed out in response to the criticism.
Hoskinson explained in his statement that the count does not distinguish between his personal usage of the private plane and charters. He said that he is almost ready to figure out how to make flying privately more profitable and questioned the list’s purpose as well. He said he would only fly privately if he could figure out a method to earn more money than he would have to spend on it in May 2021, and he thinks he has virtually “cracked that code.”
However, some users have persisted in criticising Hoskinson, asserting that given Cardano’s subpar market performance, his expenditure on private planes is unwarranted. It is supported by the fact that ADA has been in a local slump for more than two months, losing over 20% of its value, indicating the platform is lagging behind rivals like Ethereum and Solana.
Hoskinson defended his use of a private plane, but the controversy makes it unclear what important people in the bitcoin community prioritise. Hoskinson’s detractors contend that concentrating on luxuries for oneself may not be the greatest use of resources while Cardano attempts to recover its foothold in the market.
Hoskinson’s defenders, on the other side, stress that his travel patterns are unrelated to Cardano’s performance and that his contributions to the project should be evaluated on their own merits.
