Following a hack, John Deaton, a well-known attorney and supporter of the cryptocurrency XRP linked to Ripple, is about to restore control over his Twitter account.

Deaton is anticipated to regain access to his account in the following two to three days, according to a tweet from colleague attorney James K. Filan.

Deaton asks followers to avoid his account in the meantime as he expects to go into more detail about the event during a live stream set for Tuesday on the CryptoLaw channel.

This declaration comes in the wake of recent reports that Deaton was a target of a protracted cyberattack that led to the compromise of his Twitter account.

Hackers took advantage of Deaton’s standing in the cryptocurrency industry to spread fake information about a new digital coin called “LAW,” purportedly affiliated with CryptoLaw.

The scammers used Deaton’s account to promote the LAW token while fraudulently portraying it as a revolutionary advancement in the DeFi sector with a special emphasis on the regulatory landscape of cryptocurrencies. This misleading statement, which implied that LAW was an official product of CryptoLaw, further seduced followers by urging them to buy the fictitious coin through a website that was connected to it.

The story was swiftly refuted by CryptoLaw, which made it plain that the lawyer’s account had been compromised by criminals and that the tweet endorsing the LAW token was fake.

In light of the hacking event, the organisation advised its supporters and the cryptocurrency industry at large to take prudence. Even among well-known personalities in the bitcoin industry, the incident serves as a clear reminder of the cybersecurity concerns present in the modern day.
