A Dogecoin developer who goes by the Twitter handle “Bluezr” has suggested that work on an update to the Dogecoin Core is still in progress.

“Bluezr” shared a Github repository that showed ongoing contributions, reviews, and feedback for Dogecoin core 1.14.7 while discussing work on Dogecoin’s small build system improvement in consolidation.

The user interface, efficiency, and security were all enhanced in the July 2022 release of Dogecoin Core 1.14.6.

Multiple security fixes, adjustments to the current fee scheme, and a number of new features were added in Dogecoin Core 1.14.6. The suggested dust ceiling for all users of the Dogecoin network was decreased from 1 DOGE to 0.01 DOGE in this release.

The “breaking changes” also included a restriction on the maximum number of addnode records and a change to the configuration of the wallet backup directory.

The security flaws detailed in Halborn Security’s security disclosure for Dogecoin Core have been fixed in version 1.14.6, according to Dogecoin core developer Patrick Lodder.

A blockchain security company called Halborn revealed serious flaws in Dogecoin Core 1.14.5 and earlier versions in March. The flaws also affected 280 extra instances of blockchain software created on the Bitcoin Blockchain. The most recent upgrade has the problem rectified, according to Halborn’s assessment.

It is anticipated that the future Dogecoin core update would expand on the previous one with even more advancements to strengthen Dogecoin’s security and functionality, however the upgrade’s exact scope was not yet known at the time of writing.

A Dogecoin developer, Inevitable 360, recently published ongoing work on “Shibe Tips,” which creates a Dogecoin Tips URL that allows mobile devices to immediately ask for the Dogecoin Wallet, while on other platforms it shows a QR code and users’ Doge addresses.

The “Shibe Tip” website underwent modifications, and the Doge Address Validator was incorporated and made suitable for open source deployment.
