Recently, RippleX, the development arm of a well-known cryptocurrency payment firm, took to Twitter to remind people of the impending launch of Crossmark, a much-anticipated browser-based wallet for the XRP Ledger. The goal of the invention was to make network migrations for developers easier and transaction signature simpler.
While a precise release date has not been made public, talks with the developers who worked on its development have revealed a number of important elements.
As a result, Crossmark is a browser-based digital wallet built on the XRP Ledger that offers full support for native features and transaction types. Crossmark may be easily installed by users as a browser extension for well-known browsers including Chrome, Opera, and Firefox.
The creation of new wallets utilising a mnemonic seed, family seed, or secret numbers is one of the many onboarding options that Crossmark will provide. Additionally, through these gateways, preexisting wallets may be imported. Another XRP Ledger wallet, Xumm, is compatible with Crossmark, making it possible for users to see their wallet balance and sign transactions using Xumm through the Crossmark user interface.
Future sidechains like the XLS-38d sidechain amendment and the XLS-30d native AMM amendment will be supported by the wallet as well. The wallet is already equipped with developer networks for these modifications, assuring compatibility and preparedness for next developments.
As previously mentioned, Crossmark places a high priority on user secret key protection. The wallet will use Xumm’s similar encryption algorithm for locally encrypted storage on the user’s PC. The user-provided six-digit passcode is combined with a randomly generated unique identification as part of the encryption process.
