XRP Wallet Xumm Issues Important Warning to Users

XRP

In light of the fact that scammers are always coming up with new ways to take advantage of naïve investors, XRP wallet Xumm has issued a dire warning to its customers.

The blockchain-based XRP A fraudulent Xumm plugin is presently accessible in the Chrome Web Store, as reported by Xumm to its users. In an effort to steal their money, the plugin instructs users to input their secret words.

Xumm affirms that it does not now offer a browser plugin and has no plans to do so in the future: “Warning. A fake Xumm plugin may be found on the Chrome Web Store. It requests your passwords and then takes all of your money. We don’t supply browser add-ons. A browser plugin will never be available from us. On your own phone, we keep your money protected and secure.

Wietse Wind, the creator of XRPL, repeats the cautionary note made by Xumm. Always download the official Xumm app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, he advises consumers. Additionally, Wind requests that they never use their secret word anyplace else.

Scam bots on the rise

Scammers aim to take advantage of XRP’s growing popularity as it soars back to prominence by preying on gullible investors.

Attorney John Deaton, the creator of CryptoLaw, has seen a rise in XRP-related scam bot activity. Deaton tweeted, “The scam bots are out related to anything Ripple and XRP,” asking Elon Musk for help.

The CryptoLaw firm also pointed out that a number of phoney accounts, including those that purchased blue checks, are publishing scam answers to tweets, underscoring an uptick in scammers’ activities.

A federal judge’s ruling last week that XRP constituted a security only when offered directly to institutional investors under written contracts, but not when made available to the general public on exchanges, brought attention to the cryptocurrency.

Supporters of cryptocurrencies praised the decision as a triumph for the industry.

Owners of XRP saw some compensation for their patience after the ruling, as XRP immediately rose by about 100%. After then, XRP climbed to its present position as the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
