Shibarium beta’s “Puppynet,” the Shiba Inu Layer 2 testnet, continues to set new records, which may indicate that it is in demand and useful.
The total number of transactions completed on the Shiba Inu Layer 2 testnet has surpassed the 33 million mark, marking a new milestone.
Puppyscan reports that since its March 11 inception, the Shibarium testnet has handled 33,072,763 transactions. There are presently 17,062,762 interacting wallet addresses, with 1,882,580 total blocks.
On July 26, Lucie, a representative of the Shiba ecosystem, declared that the Shibarium beta bridge was now open for public testing. Since the bridge is still in beta, she advises users not to use actual assets.
Shibarium documentation states that a bidirectional transaction environment between Shibarium and Ethereum is provided through the Shibarium bridge. In addition to serving as a scaling solution, the bridge would let users move tokens between the two networks without increasing third-party risks or decreasing market liquidity.
Given that there are presently over 450,000 ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum, Shibarium’s usefulness is anticipated to increase once the bridge is live on the mainnet.
Shiba Inu keeps building
Shiba Inu ecosystem representative Lucie highlights in a recent tweet the fact that the ecosystem is still expanding despite challenging market conditions. Lucie stated, “SHIB in bear builds to bloom in bull,” after noting a number of successes and collaborations during the previous two years.
These include the October 2021 release of SHIBOSHIS, the January 2022 introduction of Doggy Dao and BONE as a gas token, and the February 2022 announcement of Welly’s relationship with John Richmond.
In April 2022, the metaverse officially began. Shiba Eternity underwent testing in Indonesia in August 2022 before making its public debut in that same month. The construction of the Wagmi temple and an MV website contributed to progress in the SHIB metaverse.
The beta versions of Discord and Shibarium were released in March 2023. Exciting collaborations like Tangem wallets, Bad Idea AI, and Rock’n Vodka were also established in that year.
