In an unorthodox way, Billy Markus, also known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto, the developer of Dogecoin, has sparked an incredible battle between Ethereum and Solana.
Markus recently posed a controversial topic to the cryptocurrency community in a post: “Is Ethereum (ETH) or Solana (SOL) superior? Depending on whatever community influences me more, that is the one I think is superior.” He awaited the decision while attaching his wallet addresses to both networks.
The reaction was startlingly quick. In five hours, Markus had accumulated nearly $10,000 in different cryptocurrencies; 88% of that amount, or $8,200, went into his Ethereum wallet, mostly in ETH.
Though it received less money, the Solana wallet obtained around $2,000 worth of different assets. Markus was taken aback by the unique combination of Solana tokens, though.

He said that the wallets were starting to fill up with a wide variety of goods. Markus revealed that the post, which was initially supposed to be humorous, took a surprising turn when people started sending different kinds of strange objects to the wallets.
He said that he didn’t know anything about Solana outside of the fact that it was popping up in his recent internet activities.
Solana versus Ethereum
In the midst of Solana’s incredible rise to become the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market value, an unorthodox rivalry between it and Ethereum gathered momentum. SOL demonstrated a startling 300% increase in value relative to ETH, hitting levels not seen since December 2021.
This comeback sparked a new debate about whether Solana might “kill ETH,” which prompted the founder of DOGE to propose his own solution to the conflict.
