Emi Yoshikawa, VP of Corporate Strategy & Operations at Ripple, tweets her excitement over the AMM amendment, which gives the XRP Ledger access to Automated Market Maker (AMM) capabilities.
Yoshikawa shares a nostalgic tweet from 2022, when talks over the AMM changes were just being started, to share her expectations. The VP of Ripple is optimistic that the XRPL community will approve the AMM modification the next week.

Based on her flashback tweet, Yoshikawa believes that the AMM amendment will be a “game-changer” for the XRP Ledger. According to the Ripple VP at the time, if the AMM (Automated Market Maker) is added to the XRP Ledger by an amendment, it will probably surpass the combined strength of CLOB and AMM as the most potent DEX and greatly increase liquidity.
With a majority on January 31, the AMM amendment may go live on the mainnet if it continues to receive support from over 80% of reliable validators for another two weeks. The amendment is temporarily rejected and the two-week term is reset if support falls below 80%.
While there is still a great deal of anticipation for the AMM amendment to be activated on XRP Ledger, there are also worries about a small fault that RippleX found during prolonged integration testing.
The problem relates to what may prevent several AMM transactions from taking place on the same ledger. The problem had no effect on ledger stability, and the AMM behaviour was accurate in every instance. However, the solution can do rid of the AMM edge case impact, guaranteeing that the AMM always works as intended.
According to RippleX, a patch has been suggested and is being examined. In response to queries about the AMM amendment, David Schwartz, CTO of Ripple, says that “it is known how to avoid the bug and the consequences of the bug are minor.”
