Dogecoin (DOGE) Community Warned of Airdrop Scams: Details

Dogecoin

With more people adopting cryptocurrencies, Dogecoin (DOGE), the largest cryptocurrency with a dog theme by market capitalization, is becoming more and more well-liked.

But in the midst of all the enthusiasm over DOGE, airdrop frauds that prey on gullible community members have increased. Community members should be on the lookout for potential frauds that masquerade as genuine airdrops as DOGE’s popularity grows.

In light of this, prominent Dogecoin community member Mishaboar warns about a number of phoney airdrops, some aimed at Dogecoin and many others offering airdrops for other popular meme and AI tokens at the moment.

All of them are seen by Mishaboar as attempts to steal users’ bitcoin. He warns the Dogecoin community to avoid questionable accounts, some of which may have tens of thousands of phoney followers while being large and appearing authentic.

Mishaboar sent out a similar alert to the Dogecoin community over the weekend, asking members to avoid visiting the dogechain.com domain. This domain was previously used to fake the.info website, which led to users disclosing their passwords and email addresses.

Other tips to stay safe

To keep themselves safe and secure when investing in cryptocurrencies, individuals can adhere to following guidelines.

Initially, users of cryptocurrency should be wary of unsolicited emails or texts purporting to provide free tokens via an airdrop. Valid initiatives usually give explicit guidelines for participation and use official channels to notify airdrops.

Second, anybody offering to help with airdrops should never get the private keys or seed phrases from cryptocurrency holders. These details are frequently used by scammers to enter user wallets without authorization and take money in the process.

Finally, they should carry out in-depth study to confirm the validity of crypto ventures. In this sense, determining the project’s trustworthiness may need knowledge about the team, the project roadmap, and community involvement.
