Crucial Ethereum SHIB Warning Sent to Community by Shiba Inu Rep

Ethereum

The SHIB team’s marketing specialist, Lucie, has used her X (formerly well-known as Twitter) account to educate the public about a crucial detail regarding SHIB in the context of this well-known meme coin.

Regarding the query Lucie has been receiving lately, she talked about whether or not Shiba Inu may be used on the Ethereum network. Why Ethereum developers must be involved in this has been made clear by Lucie.

Challenges for using SHIB on Ethereum as gas token

The Shiba Inu community has some members who think it would be a good idea to utilise SHIB on the Ethereum chain to pay for petrol fees equivalent to ETH. Lucie addressed this sentiment in a recent tweet.

The marketing lead for SHIB outlined the technological difficulties and problems this concept confronts. To start, Lucie gave the SHIB audience a brief overview of Ethereum, which is a digital platform for developing and utilising decentralised applications and smart contracts. To view any activities taken on this network, smart contracts need ETH coins in order to function. ETH is therefore utilised as a “gas fee.” It drives miners to validate transactions on the network and provides energy to it.

There is some confusion over the idea of using a nonnative token on Ethereum, however Lucie kindly clarified why this is not feasible. The first explanation she offered was that there is not a great deal of interoperability between SHIB and Ethereum; the latter is meant to function on ETH. Additionally, on Ethereum, no other nonnative token may be used to purchase petrol.

Additionally, Lucie noted that there may be security and technological problems if a separate token—like SHIB—is used on Ethereum instead of a native one. Since Ethereum operates on the proof-of-stake method created for ETH as a gas token, among other characteristics, using a different token than ETH might “disrupt this mechanism and potentially compromise the security and reliability of the network.”

Lucie concluded by pointing out some potential practical issues: “Introducing a different token like Shib would require significant changes to the existing infrastructure and may cause confusion and complexity for users.” After that, she rephrased her tweet to state that it is not “practical due to technical, security, and compatibility reasons” to use any third-party token on Ethereum in addition to or instead of ETH.
