Mike Tyson to Introduce Mystery Box NFT Collection on Binance NFT Marketplace

NFT

Arguably the best boxer of all times – Mike Tyson – will launch a Mystery Box NFT collection via Binance NFT (the non-fungible token marketplace of the crypto exchange). The sale begins on April 5, 2022, at 11:00 UTC.

‘Iron Mike’ joins the NFT craze

Over the past few months, non-fungible tokens have become a very intriguing niche, as many celebrities, sportspeople, and musicians have launched their own collections. The latest person to jump on the bandwagon is former boxing champion – Mike Tyson.

According to a document seen by CryptoPotato, the American and his team partnered with Binance NFT Marketplace to introduce 15,000 digital collectibles to the global audience. Sale participants can purchase the Mystery Box NFT for $44 BUSD, which features “Iron Mike’s” boxing gloves, T-shirts, shorts, warm-up gear, and other autographed items. Additionally, fans can buy a never-before-seen Mike Tyson NFT, created by the renowned illustrator Henric Aryee.

Additional engagement will be provided through exclusive access, rewards, and information on upcoming Mike Tyson NFT and Metaverse launches. It should be noted that fans will receive three additional special edition non-fungible tokens for free, releasing later in 2022.

The Mystery Box NFT sale begins on April 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM UTC and will continue until April 5, 2022, at 11:00 PM UTC. The secondary market will open shortly after that. Participants can collect five different designs: Bronze (9,000 NFTs), Silver (4,000 NFTs), Gold (1,950 NFTs), Platinum (35 NFTs), and Diamond (15 NFTs) with the rarest being autographed by the boxing legend.

This isn’t Tyson’s first interaction with the crypto world. Last summer, he asked his 5.7 million Twitter followers if they preferred Bitcoin or Ethereum. The many responses ranged from people urging him to stay away from the industry to others arguing that both cryptocurrencies present significant opportunities.

Unsurprisingly, bitcoin evangelist Michael Saylor also joined the discussion. MicroStrategy’s CEO said he had spent “more than a thousand hours considering this question” and chose BTC, describing it as “the future of digital property.”

Tyson Fury’s NFT Collection

Another athlete who started an NFT collection is the reigning heavyweight boxing champion – Tyson Fury. In May 2021, he collaborated with FomoLab to showcase his digital collectibles on HoDooi.com. Commenting on the effort, the boxer (known as the ‘Gypsy King’) said:

“HoDooi.com will be the official NFT marketplace to launch my NFT collection. Looking forward to showing my fans and their users what we’ve created. Get ready for the release, you big dossers!”

Matt Luczynski – co-founder and CEO of HoDooi – held out hope that his company could further develop its multi-channel platform and customer experience through partnerships such as the one with Fury.
