Vice President of Ripple Emi Yoshikawa is excited that SBI Group, a major player in the Japanese banking industry, will be minting guest NFTs for the event utilising XRP Ledger. This is a significant turning point for both Ripple and the broader application of blockchain technology.
The VP of Corporate Strategy and Operations of Ripple, Yoshikawa, shared the specifics of this historic milestone on social media. The Ripple VP tweeted that millions of attendees at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, from April to October 2025, would get official NFTs (“MYUAKU-N”) that were created on the XRP Ledger.

Yoshikawa provides more information about how to obtain NFTs, saying that you may do so by going to the Expo and doing tasks. You may use the Expo mobile payments app to obtain extra NFTs. NFTs are mintable on your own.”
The XRP community has taken notice of SBI Group’s deliberate choice to manufacture non-fungible tokens (NFTs) using the XRP Ledger.
Vet, an XRPL dUNL validator, expressed happiness that SBI plans to issue visitor NFTs and utilise XRP Ledger for the first time at a major event like EXPO 2025 in Japan.
With an anticipated 28 million participants, he continues, this might raise awareness of XRPL NFTs and expand the use of its NFT functionalities in practical applications. To increase their uniqueness, native XLS-20 NFT features like non-transferable flags will be employed to indicate that they cannot be traded.
Yoshikawa gave a positive response, calling the SBI Group’s decision to use XRP Ledger for NFT mints a “huge” one.
Bithomp data shows that since the introduction of the XLS-20 standard, 6,508,659 NFTs have been created, with 5,954,017 of them in circulation and 6,577 issuers in total.
