Cardano Ethereum-Compatible Sidechain Receives New Deployment

Cardano

A significant deployment to the Milkomeda C1 sidechain on the Cardano Ethereum-compatible blockchain has been disclosed by Milkomeda, a Layer 2 protocol that adds EVM functionality to non-EVM blockchains.

It claims that v5 on mainnet C1 — the most recent bridge contract — has recently been successfully implemented. One of the most significant steps towards the future Milkomeda C1 v2 release is noted as being taken here.

Milkomeda C1 continues to make progress towards version 2. Bridge validators have begun a scheduled upgrade to their bridging software, Milkomeda stated in a yesterday’s update.

Wrapped smart contracts, liquid staking, an aggregator with a user rescue treasury, updated validator software, and the introduction of various dApps are just a few of the innovations that will be part of the Milkomeda V2 release.

The Milkomeda Foundation announced Milkomeda C1 in March of last year, allowing the deployment of Ethereum decentralised applications (dApps) in the Cardano ecosystem.

After a few months, Milkomeda has seen significant growth, handling millions of transactions. The team made the observation that a significant portion of the toolset is not user-friendly for operators. This influenced the choice to release Milkomeda V2 at all.

Djed was first used on the Milkomeda C1 side chain last month. Djed is now the first algorithmic stablecoin on Milkomeda C1 thanks to the deployment.

A revolutionary Layer 2 for on-chain games called Paima Engine was released by Paima Studios, which was developed on top of Milkomeda C1, enabling Cardano users to play any blockchain-based game without having to bridge tokens to another network.
